Progressivism creates false expectations among the poor that cannot be fulfilled. Why will anyone continue to be productive over time when 60% of your efforts is given to the unproductive? All will work less and less as there is no incentive to do otherwise! Big government with the associated necessary high taxes are the opposite of freedom. They thwart efficient government. They live in a virtual reality where price points, product-market pressures, and capital returns don’t matter.
A new financial reform bill titled “Inclusion of Minorities and Women; Diversity in Agency Workforce” requires each federal financial agency, the Fed Board of Governors and the 12 regional Fed banks to “establish an Office of Minority and Women Inclusion” to allocate credit by race and gender ignoring the fact that our current recession’s catalyst was the “housing bubble.”
